Casa Optima places great importance on the professional growth of its employees, and the nomination of Mauro Morghenti as Sales Director for MEC3 Germany, after almost twenty years of an honourable career, is a tangible example. A promotion that recognizes the skills, commitment and leadership that Mauro has shown over the years, achieving together with his team excellent results. Originally from the region of Emilia Romagna in Italy, he moved to Germany in 2006 after a job interview with Vito Ciniero, CEO Mec3 Germany, during Sigep.

“I was pleased to move to Germany because I was engaged to a German girl, and I took the Job opportunity offered to me by Mec3. I started as a sales agent for the Nuremberg area and then after four years, I moved to Lake Constance and started following the German speaking part of Switzerland. In 2014, the position of Area Manager for Bayern, in the Southern German region became available, and from there it was all a crescendo: Thuringia, Sachsen (with Dresden and Leipzig) up to the appointment as Sales Director Germany”. 

How did you feel when you were offered this promotion? Did you expect it?

Let’s say it was in the air, but I didn’t think it was so imminent! This nomination involves more responsibility and is therefore a sign of great trust towards me by the company and I can’t help but be very proud of it.

What new tasks do you take on with this role? 

Initially, I will hold the position of Area Manager South Germany on a temporary basis and from a group of nine agents I will henceforth go on to manage a team of three Area Managers and thirty sales agents. My objective is to create a strong and cohesive group, so that there is always greater synergy between all teams. 

Which are the priorities that need to be addressed?

Maintaining the already high level of motivation that the German group possesses is undoubtedly one of the main priorities. I would also like to transmit the pleasure that we obtain in our work, when establishing a good relationship with small and large customers, to lead them through our company, towards success and great satisfaction. 

Summer seems to have finally arrived: which new flavours are performing best in Germany? And the all-time best sellers?

Among the new 2024 flavours I can say that Baileys, Limoncello and Cookies Lotus Biscoff have won the German customer over. The company is having great success, customers are rewarding us for quality, service and prestige, even through the summer that has not yet fully started. The best seller is without doubt Cookies, but also the classics such as hazelnut and pistachio. The German consumer has refined his tastes and like the Italian consumer, is looking for quality products, with a preference for chocolate.
