It was 1960 when in a small warehouse in the province of Varese, Modecor Italiana was founded. A history built on a passion for cake decorations, which evolved into a successful entrepreneurial activity.
With an offer that ranges from chocolate decorations to the production of sugar paste and colouring gels, to digital and screen printing, Modecor Italiana is a leading European company in the production of decorations for pastry and ice
cream. The best raw materials, innovation, quality service, a wide range and creativity are the
numbers of its success.
The production plant, located in Cuvio since 1991, occupies an area of over 12 thousand square meters where 120 employees work. A dynamic reality which benefited from an additional boost starting in 2018 with the entry together
with the Ambra’s and Florensuc brands into the Casa Optima Group.
Each year, 100 raw materials are selected and processed at Modecor for a total of approximately 700 tons; more than 2,000 products are included in the catalogue, with about 450 new references added. More than 1,800 products are
customized ad hoc for customers, 70 countries around the world are served, with a portfolio of over
8,000 customers, divided between bakeries and wholesalers.
A story full of success, which can be retraced through some key dates:
2000: Launch of the first food printer.
2005: First production of chocolate decorations.
2013: The Research and development department was established.
2013: First production of ColorGel, a water-soluble colouring gel, perfect for pastry chefs who are artists of decoration.
2014: First production of sugar paste.
2018: Modecor Joined Casa Optima, a leading Italian Group in the production of ingredients for artisanal gelato, pastries, decorations and beverages, present in over 150 countries worldwide.
2020: First production of sugar paste sheets.
2024: launch of Golden Touch, the most successful innovation in recent years. A unique product capable of replicating the splendour of the traditional gold leaf, allowing all creations to be transformed into masterpieces. Success sealed with the gold medal at the Bar Awards Innovation 2024, in the Sweet Food category.
2025: MODECORARE is born, decoration according to Modecor. A real manifesto born from the need to tell the story of the quality, the innovation and creativity which are the basis of the products that Modecor makes to surprise and delight its customers, thus offering an extraordinary look, a delicious detail or a signature to every pastry, ice cream, bakery, beverage and catering creation.
