Seven years with MEC3 Germany and since 2021, Area Manager Germany for the Pernigotti Maestri Gelatieri Italiani brand: William Falconieri’s professional story once again testifies the dynamism of our Group, where those who wish to perfect their skills and accept new
challenges are spoilt for choice!
Born and raised in Germany, after attending a commercial school and working for several years for a company in the gastronomic sector in Stuttgart, William moved to Italy where he managed a supermarket, an artisanal gelato parlour and worked with a well-known chain
as a wholesaler in the province of Lecce.
It was during this period that he became passionate about the world of gelato and began to develop a desire to try out new professional opportunities: “I knew MEC3 very well and I knew that it was a market leader so at the end of 2013, I had my first interview with
Vito Ciniero, CEO MEC3 Germany, whom I thank for the trust he placed in me by letting me join his team”.
Seven years passed and in 2019 the brand Pernigotti Maestri Gelatieri Italiani was purchased by the Casa Optima Group. There was a lot of work to be done, and William was the right man to rebuild the German market. “I started on my own, activating wholesale partners
and going out to find old and new customers. Over time the team has expanded, and given the significant growth of the brand, in whose potential we deeply believe, we continue to strengthen the team with the aim of consolidating and increasing further our business in
Germany. I am enormously proud of my team, made up of highly motivated young people, with whom I have established a particularly good relationship and with whom I interact daily, to share objectives and critical issues.”
Mec3 and Pernigotti Maestri Gelatieri Italiani: if you had to choose your favourite, which would it be?
I’d say the Group Casa Optima! However, granted that I am a fan of both brands, I would say that in 2019 I agreed to switch to Pernigotti Maestri Gelatieri Italiani because I was fascinated by its history and my memory of the famous gianduiotto. In MEC3 I was making
very high numbers and always found the doors open, so changing was a personal challenge that I wanted to take up and which, starting from scratch, has given me great satisfaction.
Which Pernigotti Maestri Gelatieri Italiani flavours are most popular in Germany?
The most popular flavours in Germany include the Kit Profumi d’Italia line, which continues to be successful thanks to the new products launched every year. Also going very strong is the line Morettina Pepita, especially the Pistachio line with nuggets, the Gelagel line and
the new fruit pastes from Corte degli Agrumi. Our top sellers remain cocoa, the fondant for coating and the salted stracciatella especially the caramel one.
